the healing power of gentle touch

Using a gentle pressure the therapist facilitates the removal of restrictive blockages that the normal self - correcting physiological forces of the body have been unable to overcome.

The therapist listens to the inner wisdom of the body and follows the cues of the body’s tissues and how it wants to unravel itself.

We assist the body’s self correcting abilities to address underlying core problems and support long term change.

CST can be used as a preventative health measure to help us tune up and to support recovery in a range of conditions associated with pain, dysfunction and distress.

Conditions  such as chronic neck and head pain, migraines and headaches, TMJ syndrome, head and spinal injuries, anxiety and insomnia and any other symptoms related to trauma recovery can be addressed.

Because of the light touch used and non invasive  approach it is also a very safe, effective treatment for children and babies.

SomatoEmotional ® Release (SER)

SomatoEmotional ® Release (SER) is a natural therapeutic process that the client’s whole body spontaneously goes into during a CranioSacral Therapy session.

At times of high stress and trauma or emotional sensitivity the body may retain the imprint of those emotions, experienced at the time, in the tissues and organs.

With the facilitation of a CranioSacral  Therapist using meaningful and intentioned touch, any residual past trauma, injuries and negative emotional experiences held in the tissues may resurface and are released, either during the treatment or in the days following. Thus allowing the patient the potential to fully recover.

SomatoEmotional Release is based on the concept of tissue memory or cellular memory being held in the body’s cells and tissues like muscle, fascia, bone, teeth and other connective tissue and organs.

The patient has the possibility of greater body-mind integration and more meaning and perspective is gained during and after treatment.

Multihands CranioSacral Therapy (CST)

Multihands CST/SER treatment involves two or more therapists working with one client at a time.

There is usually 1 primary/lead therapist supported and assisted by the other therapists. The work is multi-hands as a team, all following what the client on the table needs. It is not 2 therapists with different agendas working at the same time.

This multihands approach offers the client a potentially deeper experience in a way that can only be done with the support of a group.

The therapists work together as a team and this enables them to be more perceptive to what is going on in the client’s body. The changes for the client often feel more significant than having a couple of single one on one CST treatments.

The deeper issues or causal factors of what is going on for the client can be addressed in this supported setting.

On a practical level more of the client’s body can be physically held if there is unwinding or releasing of tissue.

Multihands CST treatment is most beneficial with clients that have more complex health issues and may have plateaued with one on one CST treatment.

The dynamic of the multi-hands group of therapists can facilitate the client to get to a more elevated place in their mind-body-spirit connection. This can promote deeper healing with more lasting results.

The client moves from a place of unresolved issues and illness towards greater health, wholeness and fulfillment in life.

We currently offer CST/SER multi hands treatment at our South Hobart clinic by appointment only on Wednesday mornings.
